Design, dimensions, and weight

Honor Magic V5 5G offers slim dimensions and a premium build. In the Warm White version, it’s just 8.8 mm thick when folded and only 4.1 mm when opened. The other versions are slightly thicker — 9 mm folded and 4.2 mm opened. The weight is 217 g for Warm White and 222 g for the other colors.

Dimensions are 156.8 mm in height, the width is 74.3 mm when folded and as much as 145.9 mm when unfolded. Right away, it’s clear you’re getting a very premium model that blends design and practicality.

Display: an inner OLED and an outer OLED panel

The smartphone has two displays — an inner 7.95″ OLED panel with a resolution of 2352 × 2172 px and an outer 6.43″ OLED display with a resolution of 2376 × 1060 px. Both show up to 1.07 billion colors and offer top-tier brightness.

Maximum HDR brightness reaches up to 5000 nits, which is one of the highest values among smartphones. The inner display has a global brightness of 1300 nits, and the outer one up to 1800 nits. Honor used special protective glass — flexible HONOR King Kong Armor inside and King Kong Giant Rhino Glass on the outside.

Performance: Snapdragon 8 Elite and Adreno 830

The latest Snapdragon 8 Elite with an octa-core processor powers the smartphone, with the main cores reaching up to 4.32 GHz. Graphics performance is handled by Adreno 830, ready for even the most demanding games and apps.

The phone comes with a memory configuration of 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage. It runs on MagicOS 9.0.1 based on Android 15.

Cameras: triple rear and dual front

On the back, the Honor Magic V5 5G features a triple camera module: a 50 MP ultra-wide sensor (f/2.0), a 50 MP main camera with OIS (f/1.6), and a 64 MP periscope telephoto lens with OIS (f/2.5) and 3× optical zoom. Digital zoom goes up to 100×.

The front camera is 20 MP and sits on both displays (inner and outer). It supports 4K video recording, portrait modes, and face recognition. The rear cameras handle 4K video and offer a wide range of modes, from night shooting to a professional mode.

Battery and charging

The battery has a capacity of 5820 mAh (typical value), which is excellent for a foldable smartphone. It supports fast 66 W charging via HONOR SuperCharge and also 50 W wireless charging.

According to the manufacturer, the charging power adapts intelligently to current conditions. The package includes the original charger, which is a big plus compared to the competition.

Durability and connectivity

The smartphone is certified IP58 and IP59, so it is protected against dust and water. It supports modern 5G/4G/3G/2G networks as well as eSIM.

It also comes with Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, Beidou and QZSS. A notable feature is the infrared port for controlling home electronics.
