Forget about thin phones with poor endurance: the new Oppo A7 Pro packs a 8000 mAh battery into 8.8 mm and sports a gorgeous 6.57″ OLED panel

After the August A7 Pro Max model with a massive 10,000 mAh battery, Oppo brings its more affordable sibling. Oppo A7 Pro Even if it has slightly lower specs and a smaller battery capacity, it’s still, on paper, a pretty solid “battery-life” phone at a reasonable price.

8000 mAh in a body just 8.8 mm thick

According to the web Gizmochina, the A7 Pro offers a 8000 mAh battery with 45W SUPERVOOC charging. Despite the battery size, the phone measures only 8.8 mm thick and weighs around 205 grams — meaning those are dimensions you wouldn’t normally expect for such endurance. Cooling is handled by a VC chamber with an area of 4,300 mm².

The display is a 6.57-inch flexible OLED panel with 2372 × 1080 px resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, 240 Hz touch sampling, 10-bit colors, and peak brightness up to 1400 nits. It runs on ColorOS 16 built on Android 16, which also includes an AI protection suite against scams — warnings for suspicious calls, recognition of AI-generated faces (deepfakes), and cross-app protection.

In terms of connectivity, the phone offers 5G, Wi‑Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, USB‑C, and GPS — meaning a complete feature set you might not automatically expect at this price point.

A more modest chip, but top-tier durability

Under the hood, there’s a MediaTek Dimensity 6360 Max chipset clocked up to 2.4 GHz, paired with LPDDR4X memory and UFS 2.2 storage with support for expansion via a memory card — so it’s more of a basic setup, suggesting the phone’s main draw is battery life and durability rather than raw performance. The photography side is handled by a 50 MP main sensor with f/1.9 aperture and autofocus, complemented by an 8 MP front camera. The pill-shaped rear camera module also houses an LED flash and an infrared transmitter for controlling home appliances.

The phone can handle demanding environments as well — it comes with certification IP69K, IP68, and IP66, meaning protection against dust, immersion, and pressurized water. The package includes an in-display optical fingerprint sensor, NFC support (payments, access, and transport cards), and a 300-percent “super loud” speaker mode for better intelligibility in noisy environments.

Price, availability, and possible arrival abroad

Oppo A7 Pro is sold in China in two memory variants — 6 GB + 256 GB for 2199 yuan (about $330) and 8 GB + 256 GB for 2499 yuan (about $370). You can choose from three colors: gray “Riding the Waves”, pink floral “Every Step Blossoms”, and brown “Desert Brown”. Sales in China start on September 11, 2026.

The global version labeled CPH2931 has already cleared certifications in Thailand, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, and India, where it’s rumored to launch under a different name: Oppo F35. Oppo has not yet confirmed whether and when the phone (under any name) will also reach Europe. The Oppo A series is commonly sold in Slovakia — but so far, we’ve mainly had models with 5000 mAh batteries, so the possible arrival of the A7 Pro with double the capacity would be a noticeable step up.
