The phone also stands out with its main camera with a resolution of up to 200 MPx, which the manufacturer calls the LumaColor Camera.

What do overseas reviews say about the Realme 16 Pro 5G?
The model has been sold in India, Malaysia, and the Philippines since January 2026, so there’s a decent collection of reviews. We went through them, and the match is surprisingly tight — both in what the phone does and doesn’t do well.
What reviewers like
The most frequently mentioned advantage is the display. Indian 91mobiles calls it “bright, vibrant” and rates visibility in direct sunlight as excellent, while Malaysian Hitech Century adds “vibrant, punchy colours”. The panel has a top brightness of 6500 nits, and in normal operation (HBM) it reaches 1400 nits.
The second advantage is battery life. 91mobiles measured 14.3 hours in a PCMark test, and Hitech Century even clocked 16 hours 35 minutes. Note: both measurements are for the 7000 mAh battery version — and we explain why that matters below.
The main 200 MPx camera gets good marks in daylight. The Philippine WalasTech mentions “high level of detail”, and portraits are rated as “more refined” thanks to more accurate edge separation. In weaker light, according to it, it shoots “better than expected”.
Praise also went to durability (IP68/IP69K), loud speakers, and the realme UI 7 software layer, which 91mobiles describes as “noticeably cleaner and smoother” compared to the previous generation.
What they criticize
Here reviewers are almost unanimous: the weakest link is the chip. 91mobiles directly mentions an “underwhelming chipset”, WalasTech says “performance is not the strongest in its segment” and that frame rates drop during longer gaming sessions. The Dimensity 7300 Max scores about 919,000 points in AnTuTu 11 and 998 / 2881 on Geekbench 6. For everyday use, that’s more than enough without issues, but for demanding games it’s weaker than the competition in a similar price range.
That ties into the second complaint — heating. “Runs warmer than rivals” during longer gaming sessions (91mobiles), and “noticeable warmth” that affects performance (WalasTech).
The third point of agreement is the ultra-wide lens. Eight megapixels are too little, and reviewers notice: WalasTech calls it the “weakest part” of the entire lineup, Hitech Century notes “noticeably different results” compared to the main sensor and mentions occasional overexposure. The phone also lacks a telephoto lens, and it records video at up to 4K at 30 frames per second.
The last repeated complaint is pre-installed bloatware in the system.
Important: the European version is not the same one they reviewed
This is something to watch out for. Realme 16 Pro 5G comes in two variants. The one they reviewed in India, Malaysia, and the Philippines has a 7000 mAh battery and 80 W charging. The European version that’s shipped from the Spanish warehouse has a 6500 mAh battery and 45 W—both versions are listed separately in the GSMArena database.
In practice, that means two things. The measured battery life from international reviews is about seven percent more optimistic than what you’ll get. Still, it’s comfortably enough for a full day, and with moderate use it should even last for more than one day. And when charging, expect a longer time: reviewers charged the 7000 mAh battery with 80 W in about 49 minutes to an hour, while the 6500 mAh battery with 45 W will take noticeably longer. The charger is also not included in the box, so you’ll need to buy at least a 45 W adapter that supports PPS for the phone.

Modern design and a slim body
The design of the Realme 16 Pro 5G looks elegant and modern. The back uses a matte finish that feels nice to the touch while also reducing fingerprints. The manufacturer calls this design Urban Wild, combining minimalist lines with a standout camera module. Compared to its more expensive sibling, the main difference is the plastic used on the back—the realme 16 Pro+ uses glass.
Another highlight is the very slim body, at about 7.75 mm thick. Considering the battery capacity, that’s a genuinely great figure. That makes the phone comfortable to hold, while still giving it a fairly premium feel, even though it’s a mid-range model.
144 Hz AMOLED and extreme brightness
On the front you get a large 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1272 × 2772 pixels and a density of roughly 450 PPI. The panel supports up to 144 Hz refresh rate, so you’ll enjoy exceptionally smooth scrolling animations and gaming.
The display also reaches a maximum brightness of up to 6500 nits, which is a top-tier value for this price range. In practice, that means excellent readability even in direct sunlight and great video watching and gaming performance.
200 MPx LumaColor camera
One of the main reasons to get excited about this smartphone Realme 16 Pro 5G is its camera. The main sensor has a resolution of up to 200 MPx and uses LumaColor technology. It’s designed to deliver more accurate colors, better light capture, and more natural-looking portraits.
The camera setup is completed by a 8 MPx ultra-wide lens with a 112° field of view. The front camera has a resolution of up to 50 MPx, which is a very solid value for selfies and video calls. The phone also supports various AI modes and special portrait effects.
Powerful MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Max processor
Performance is handled by the modern chipset MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Max with an eight-core architecture. It’s a processor optimized for 5G networks, capable of running demanding apps and mobile games without major issues.
Naturally, there’s support for modern technologies like WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, or NFC for contactless payments. The phone also supports dual SIM and a wide range of mobile bands, so it’s compatible with European carriers.
A huge 6500 mAh battery and 45 W charging
Another big selling point is the battery with a capacity of up to 6500 mAh, one of the largest in this smartphone category. In practice, that translates to battery life comfortably even for two days with normal use, which especially benefits heavy users.
The phone also supports fast 45 W charging. The manufacturer also notes that the European version package does not include a charger to reduce the environmental impact of production. That way, users can use an existing USB-C adapter.
High durability and powerful built-in speakers
The Realme 16 Pro 5G smartphone also thinks about durability and a multimedia experience. The device body meets high protection standards IP66, IP68, and IP69K, making it resistant to dust, water, and strong water jets. The phone can even handle underwater photography and withstand extreme conditions, including high water temperatures up to 80 °C.
The manufacturer has also put work into the sound—speakers deliver up to 300% increased volume, which you’ll especially appreciate when watching videos, playing games, or listening to music in noisy environments.
