*From the original seller, we also received a charging universal USB cable with a nylon finish and a trio of ports (USB-C, micro USB and lightning) together with another anti-stress puzzle from Xiaomi, but that product was removed on AliExpress, so this option is no longer available.
Inside the box, you'll find the cube itself on a nice and stylish plastic stand, which you can later use if you want to put the cube on display somewhere. The cube has a charger attached to magnetic ports, which looks pretty fun and is reminiscent of a cube with headphones. The charger has a micro USB port and LED lights for charging. We put it on charge right after unpacking it, which is also recommended by the included English manual.
It's beautifully smooth thanks to the magnets
The first feeling when turning the individual faces of the cube is fantastic. Inside are high-quality magnets, and the faces snap into place like a knife through butter. The beveled shape of the cubes is also designed for the smoothest possible solving. If you like “speed cubing”, this cube is made for you.
Compared to regular cubes, the Xiaomi Giiker i3s has slightly more vivid sticker colors, which you may need to get used to – that was the case for us too. There is a charging port hole on the blue and green center.
Even a beginner can solve it with the app
The biggest draw of this cube for beginners is definitely the fact that they can solve it too. The Xiaomi Giiker i3s can be solved using the Supercube app, which you can find on Google Play. After charging, just activate the cube by turning any side, and the app will then find the Giiker cube via Bluetooth (the cube beeps when connected).
The mobile app then offers cube statistics (number of moves, battery status), the option to change the cube's orientation, and a live view of the 3D model. Of course, it also includes a beginner guide to solving the entire cube, a quick-solving mode, cube games, or a “battle” mode where you can compete with other players.
Pattern play can also be a fun feature, where the app guides you on how to assemble a special pattern (a flower, and so on). The last feature is a timer that starts automatically while you’re solving and turns off if you complete the cube. It also includes a “scrambling” function, meaning scrambling according to official algorithms, plus a table with your score and time.
