The new Insta360 Antigravity A1 is exactly the kind of drone that changes the way you look at filming and even at flying itself. Instead of stressing whether you hit the right angle, you simply record the entire space around you in 360°, and choose the final shot after the flight. Antigravity A1 is built around the idea of “fly first / frame later”, which is why it also makes sense as an FPV drone for people who don’t want to deal with complicated setup.

A camera and an image that already looks premium
The drone uses a 1/1.28″ sensor and can record up to 8K video at a resolution of 7680 × 3840 px at 30 fps. It also adds 5.2K up to 60 fps and 4K up to 100 fps. Photos are available up to 55 MPx, and if you care about editing, you’ll also appreciate support for DNG. For video, it includes H.264 and H.265 plus a max bitrate of 170 Mbps, so with a good card the image can be really crisp.
The INSV and INSP formats are exported via the Antigravity app or the desktop Antigravity Studio, which is typical for the Insta360 ecosystem. There’s also built-in 20 GB storage, but if you plan more flying and 8K recordings, you should count on needing a microSD card. The manufacturer states support up to 1 TB and recommends fast V30 U3 models, helping you maintain stable recording without dropouts.
Flight specs / two weights / two classes
Antigravity A1 runs on a very important number: 249 g. With the standard battery, the takeoff weight is 249 g and it falls under EU C0. With the high-capacity battery, it goes to 291 g and moves into EU C1. Dimensions are compact for travel too: folded, the drone measures 141.3 × 96.2 × 81.4 mm, and unfolded with propellers 308.6 × 382.3 × 89.2 mm.
As for battery life, with the standard battery the manufacturer lists up to 24 minutes, and with the high-capacity battery up to 39 minutes under specific test conditions. The maximum flight distance per charge is given as 13 km or up to 23 km, depending on the battery type you use. And if you want to know whether it handles worse weather too, wind resistance is rated at 10.7 m/s (level 5).
FPV goggles and grip control / feels “like you’re in a video game”
In the standard package, you get Vision FPV goggles and the Grip motion controller, so it’s not just a “bare” drone. The goggles use Micro-OLED displays with an internal resolution of 2560 × 2560 px per screen and a refresh rate of 72 Hz, which is great for smooth viewing. You also get IPD adjustment from 59–72 mm and diopters in the range of -5.0 D to +2.0 D, so most people won’t have to compromise.
Transmission runs through OmniLink 360, and the live view is in 2K at 30 fps. The manufacturer lists different bands 2.4 GHz / 5.1 GHz / 5.8 GHz depending on the region, with average latency around 150 ms in an ideal environment. In practice, range will depend on interference, obstacles, trees, or buildings.
Safety / sensors / navigation
A1 has GNSS combined with GPS + Galileo + Beidou, which is a solid foundation for stable return-to-home and position holding. For obstacle avoidance and better spatial awareness, you’ll find binocular vision at the front and bottom, plus a 3D infrared sensor. The front sensing range is 0.5 – 18 m and the bottom range is 0,3 – 7,5 m.
Operating temperature is -10 °C to 40 °C. Another plus is the maximum takeoff altitude of 4000 m with the standard battery, or 3000 m with the high-capacity one.
Three bundles: Standard, Explorer and Infinity
On Banggood, you can usually get three package variants: the standard version for a basic introduction to this “hobby”, the Explorer version with three flight batteries and a charging hub, and the Infinity bundle, which comes with three high-capacity batteries plus a fast reader. If you want to fly more often without breaks, Explorer or Infinity make more sense, because large batteries are basically a must for 8K filming.
