We ordered them from German AliExpress; there was a small hiccup there
The regular price on the SK Ali is around €126–€133; we got them for exactly €100. Of course, you also need to factor in shipping from Mailbox, which ranges from €10 to €40 depending on the size and weight of the package. For this product, we paid exactly €9.37 to the DHL pickup point (depending on your selection).
However, there was a problem during shipping. AliExpress reported the package as delivered, but Mailbox didn’t send us any email. We wrote to support with the order number, our name, and the delivery address. Within no time, we got a reply that the sender didn’t include our name and ID on the package, so they couldn’t match it to our account. So it wasn’t Mailbox’s fault, but they have a simple solution to this problem — they just need to write to them.
It’s otherwise the Chinese version of the headphones, but that’s nothing to worry about. The only contact with Chinese is when you turn them on and do the initial pairing. And the app is in English.
The SHOKZ OpenRun Pro 2 headphones are great
We decided to order SHOKZ OpenRun Pro 2 headphones because we’ve been looking at them for a long time and wanted to test the sound transfer technology using the groundbreaking DualPitch™ hybrid technology, which combines two different ways of spreading sound at the same time: bone conduction and air conduction.
We didn’t expect much from the headphones in terms of bass, but we have to say SHOKZ really surprised us. We prefer more bass-heavy music like Drum & Bass or Techno, so without bass it just isn’t the same. And they genuinely play really well. The app even has a setting to boost the bass, and you can hear it right away. There’s also a podcast setting, so everyone can pick what they like.
Considering the headphones don’t seal directly in your ear, they actually sound really good. And you can still hear what’s going on around you—which is key when running. So they’re designed for runners to keep it safe and not have you completely isolated. We love the physical buttons and there are no touch or capacitive controls.
If you take running and safety seriously, we definitely recommend them all ten out of ten. You can use them just fine in the gym too—put on some light background music and still stay aware of your surroundings.
