The larger Huawei Watch 5 version (46 mm) measures 46 × 46.7 × 11.3 mm and weighs from 58 g to 63 g depending on the color. The body is made of aerospace-grade titanium or 316L steel. The back is made of ceramic or a reinforced composite. The smaller version (42 mm) weighs only 48–51 g and uses 904L or 316L steel. Both models are available in eye-catching color options such as purple, beige, sand-gold, or black and white.

The watch bands vary depending on the model—from fluoroelastomers, through composite materials, to elegant titanium. The wrist size they fit ranges from 120 mm to 210 mm depending on the model.

Next-generation LTPO 2.0 AMOLED display

Both Huawei Watch 5 models come with an LTPO 2.0 AMOLED display with a resolution of 466 × 466 pixels. The larger model has a 1.5-inch screen with 310 ppi, while the smaller one has a 1.38-inch display with a higher 338 ppi density. What stands out is the maximum brightness of up to 3000 nits, ensuring perfect readability even in direct sunlight.

The display is protected by premium glass, and thanks to LTPO technology it can dynamically adjust the refresh rate—saving battery when showing the Always-on display (AOD).

Sensors and health features

The lineup includes an advanced 6.0 optical heart rate sensor, an EKG sensor, a body temperature sensor, a barometer, an ambient light sensor, a gyroscope, a compass, and a new X-TAP sensor (side sensor). The watches can monitor heart rate, blood oxygenation, stress, body temperature, and EKG recordings, and they also support sleep monitoring and sports activities.

The buttons are handled through a combination of a rotating crown, a functional button, and a new X-TAP interaction type. Voice control is also available, along with an integrated microphone and speaker.

Battery & runtime

Huawei Watch 5 46 mm offers battery life of 4.5 days in normal mode, 3 days with AOD, and up to 11 days in power-saving mode. The smaller 42 mm model lasts 3 days (2 days with AOD) and up to 7 days when in saving mode. On iPhone, battery life is reduced to about 2–3 days depending on the version.

The watches support wireless charging, and for charging you’ll need a standard output of 5V–10V DC/2A MAX. You’ll also appreciate fast charging that gets you back in action in a short time.

Water and Temperature Resistance

Smartwatches meet 5 ATM, IP69, and even the diving standard EN13319. They handle water pressure up to 50 m, but they are not meant for hot showers or saunas. The 46 mm model also supports open-water dives up to a depth of 40 m, making them among the toughest smartwatches on the market.
