What’s the principle behind this secret trick?
You may have already heard that prices differ across different countries—and it’s not just electronics or clothing, but also everyday groceries. A product that’s cheaper in one country can be significantly more expensive in another. This same principle applies to shopping on AliExpress. Unfortunately, as is often the case in Slovakia, prices here are still among the higher ones compared to other countries.
AliExpress automatically adjusts prices based on the destination country, which opens up an interesting way to save money. If you choose delivery to Germany instead of Slovakia, you can pay significantly less on selected products. The price differences can be dozens of euros, and for more expensive items even more than 100 euros. But how do you arrange delivery via Germany if you don’t live there?
That’s where specialized forwarding services come in. We tested Mailboxde.cz (Trustpilot rating 4.5*), a service that has been working for years and with which we’ve had great experiences — even with large shipments, such as a bicycle weighing 25 kg (however, on SK it’s max 30 kg per parcel, and to CZ up to 40 kg per parcel). This service gives you a German address where you can order the goods, and then they securely forward them to Slovakia.
For delivery of a smaller package to Slovakia, you’ll pay less than 10 €, specifically 9.63 €. However, if you order multiple smaller shipments, the service can combine them into one bigger package, which lets you save a lot on shipping costs. Another advantage is fast courier delivery to Slovakia with GLS in 1 to 3 days, while basic insurance up to 1000 € is already included in the price. If you’re ordering more valuable goods, you can pay extra for higher insurance.
If you plan to order a larger package, you can use the shipping calculator and the complete shipping price list. This trick is simple, safe, and can save you a significant amount. In the next part of the article, we’ll show you the exact step-by-step process for how to do it.
How to create an account on Mailboxde?
The Mailboxde.cz service provides you with a delivery address in Germany completely free of charge. All shipments you receive from EU countries are then forwarded to the Czech Republic or Slovakia at exceptionally good prices via reliable carriers. Mailboxde offers these benefits:

Registering on Mailboxde takes only two minutes and you can do it through this link. Just fill in basic details like first name, last name, address, and the account type (shipping parcels from Germany to CZ and SK), and then confirm everything.
Within 5 minutes of registration, you’ll receive your new German delivery address by email.
How to set up your AliExpress account for Germany and compare prices?
Now that you have your assigned German address, you can start shopping on AliExpress as a user from Germany. If you already have an AliExpress account, just log in. Next, on the homepage, change the delivery country from Slovakia to Germany. Since AliExpress is in English, look for the list of countries: “Germany”.
You can leave the other two settings under the country selection, which relate to regions, at their default values. If you don’t understand German, we recommend choosing English. You can also set the currency to EUR for easier price comparisons. Finally, confirm everything with the Save (Uložiť) button.
Now you can see prices across the entire AliExpress website that are available to customers in Germany. Below, we list three product examples with a significant price difference—the main reason this article exists.
Check out the price difference for the smartphone Honor Magic 7 Pro. For German customers, it costs €799 (during the birthday sale even €772!), while for Slovaks the price is €899. The difference exceeds €100! And even after adding shipping of about €10 via Mailboxde, you still save almost €90! We found plenty of other price differences like this—at the end of the article you’ll find the complete list.
To verify this method, we chose the smartphone Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G, which caught our attention with an exceptionally low price of just €237. In Slovakia, at that price you’d only get the weaker 4G version, not the more powerful 5G model. Without hesitation, we confirmed the order.
For comparison— even with a coupon on DHgate, we didn’t get a price that good. At the time of writing, the same model on DHgate was available for about €280 (editor’s note: from Feb 20, the DHgate price dropped to €230, but when we placed our order it was higher than that—€280). After adding €10 shipping via Mailboxde, when buying via Germany we saved another €33, which is almost 12% of the smartphone’s value.
And when we compare the price with offers from Slovak shops, where the same memory configuration is sold for €313, the savings are even bigger. Even after the coupon discount in Slovakia, you save up to €66 or 21% off the price!
How to set up a German address in your AliExpress account?
After changing your primary country on AliExpress, you also need to set the delivery address correctly in your shopping cart. If you still have Slovakia set as your main address, then after you add items to the cart, you may see a message that delivery isn’t possible or a higher price for Slovakia. Don’t worry, though—just make a few simple adjustments.
First, you need to edit the address directly in the cart by clicking on the option „Change“. (Change). A dialog window will open with a list of saved addresses in your account.
To add a new address, select „Add new address“ (Add new address).
Next, a form will open where you fill in the German address you received in an email from Mailboxde. If you don’t have it handy, you can view it directly on the Mailboxde website in the section Mailbox address, ID. Correctly entering the address is important so the shipment is linked to your account.
This is what your German address on AliExpress should look like: (fill it in exactly according to the template, with your first name, last name, and mailbox ID). You don’t need to enter a real phone number—the package will arrive without any problems even without phone contact.

While filling in the address on AliExpress, we came across a question about how to complete the form correctly, since the system requires entering the federal state in Germany (from 16 options) and also the city district.
This is what your German address on AliExpress should look like. Fill it in exactly according to our screenshot, and of course enter your first name, last name, and mailbox ID. We entered a random phone number—there’s no need to provide a working number; the shipment arrived without problems even without phone contact.
After you fill in the details, just click the „Confirm“ (Confirm) button and the address will be saved. Then you only need to enter the payment details and finish the order with the „Place order“ (Place order) button.

After a successful payment, you can check your order in the “My Orders” section on AliExpress. The order will stay visible even if you later switch the country back to Slovakia. AliExpress also lets you track your shipment via its internal tracking system and, if needed, contact the seller.
We tested an order via Germany — how did it go?
On February 10, we paid for the order on AliExpress. The shipment arrived at the Mailboxde warehouse on February 17. Since the phone was available in the Spanish warehouse, delivery took longer than we’re used to, but given the savings, it didn’t bother us.
After the package was shipped, we received an email from the shipping company GLS with a tracking number — the whole email was in German, because the order was going to Germany.
Throughout the entire shipping process, GLS regularly sent us updates on the package’s movement, so we didn’t have to track it manually. The day before delivery and on the day of delivery, we also received a notification about the expected delivery.
The package arrived at my address, but did Mailbox send you nothing?
This happened to us too, but you just need to write to support
If the seller labels the package incorrectly (without a name and ID), then Mailbox has no way to assign the package to your account. That’s why you need to write to support and send them, as an attachment in order #, the tracking number from AliExpress. Exactly this case happened to us. We contacted support, received a reply, and the assigned package was back with us the very next morning — so customer support really works great.
The package arrived at my German address — what’s next?
The GLS message about successful delivery to the German address arrived exactly at 11:04, and already at 11:20 we received an email from Mailboxde saying the package had been received. So the entire parcel processing took just 15 minutes!
The email included the exact package dimensions, its weight, the sender’s name, and the original GLS tracking number.
All you had to do was log in to your Mailboxde account, where you could see all shipment details, including the postal fee calculation for Slovakia or the Czech Republic.
Based on this amount, you needed to top up your account credit. Payment is made by payment card, and the credit is added instantly, plus you’ll also receive an email confirmation.
After successfully topping up your credit, you’ll see the option to send the package to your Slovak or Czech address. The whole process is very simple:
You click “Send”, choose the carrier — we picked GLS because of fast and cost-effective delivery. Package insurance up to €1000 is already included in the shipping price.
Once you select the shipping company, you’ll be redirected to the final shipment check, where you confirm the dispatch from Germany to Slovakia or the Czech Republic.
Done! After you finish the process, you’ll receive an email with confirmation and a new GLS courier tracking number.
We placed the request to dispatch the package by 14:00, and Mailboxde processed and shipped it the same day. Delivery went super fast — already the next day; the GLS courier called us and said the package was ready for delivery.

Don’t forget to open the links when setting your country to Germany. If you forget to change your location from Slovakia or the Czech Republic, it could happen that no products are shown, because many of these sellers in SK / CZ don’t deliver there.

Does this also apply to shipments sent directly from China and not from an EU warehouse? In the business terms, after all, in Part II it says that 1. the following items must not be included in shipments handed over to the sender and the logistic warehouse: point v) Shipments from countries outside the EU.
And what would it be like if customs charged some duty?
This only applies to shipments from the EU.
Does this work only for AliExpress, or can it be used for delivery from other stores too—those that don’t ship to Slovakia? Will it work? For example, I want to order a Bluetooth speaker that they only deliver to Western EU markets, but I don’t want my money to go up in smoke—and nothing to arrive. Can you guarantee it will work?
Sure, you can use it like this for pretty much any other store. Even MacBooks are significantly cheaper in Germany—we’re planning to order a new Air M4 this way.
