If you’re looking for a way to make watching your favorite movies and series even more exciting, you should definitely consider this ambient lighting for your TV. It will make you feel like you’re part of what’s happening on the screen—everything for a price that won’t burden your wallet at all.

Fast delivery from a warehouse in China

This ambient LED strip is currently available on the AliExpress marketplace at a great coupon price, directly from a Chinese warehouse. The great news is also fast and free delivery with shipment tracking, so you can expect it at home within 13 business days after dispatch.

Note: The analog TV signal is not processed at the operating-system level on Android, so the backlight app won’t work with regular TV channels. The backlight works only with Android OS apps that don’t use protected content. 4K performance depends only on your hardware. Unfortunately, programs like YouTube and Netflix use protected content (DRM), so the Ambient Light app can’t work with them. For it to work, you should use a special client. For example, SmartYoutube.

Ambient backlighting pulls you into the action

This ambient LED strip can sync colors with what you see on your TV or monitor screen. That means the individual segments will change and adapt to what you’re watching right now. Thanks to this feature, your favorite movie, sports match, or game will become even more captivating because you’ll be immersed in the colors and atmosphere of each scene.

The LED strip itself is installed directly on the back, around the perimeter of your TV or monitor, covering at least three of its four sides. Depending on the device’s diagonal, you can cut the LED strip to the length you need. It then connects to a special box that controls the entire color-display process.

It’s important to note that for it to work properly, you need to install an app that is paid and available only for devices with Android TV, Windows, or Linux. Before purchasing, we recommend checking compatibility of your TV with this LED strip.

If you don’t have a TV with this operating system, you can also use an external Android TV box. However, such a solution increases the total installation cost and unnecessarily complicates how the device works overall.

What’s the advantage of this ambient strip when it’s actually quite limited for TVs as well as the app? There are various other, more expensive strips where you don’t need to pay for an app, and it works without any problems. The app there is more user-friendly than this one. There’s only one condition: the signal must go through HDMI.

We recommend Govee; they also have a camera for precise color synchronization.

Does the color syncing work the way it should on the TV?

Everything needs to be set up, calculate the LEDs for the TV, then load it into that app. And it works only on YouTube and Kodi, VLC player. Yes, the “synchronization” works well—I have a 55″ TV with a 4m strip
