Baofeng UV-5R

The package you receive after ordering includes the radio itself, a battery, an antenna, a mains charger, an adapter with your local plug type, a belt clip to carry the radio, but also a lanyard for fastening it, plus an English manual. If you choose the 5W/8W – cable version, you’ll also get a USB cable, with which you can program the radio via a PC program.

As you can see, the package is truly packed, and the radio’s included accessories are just as good. Its dimensions are 100 x 52 x 32 mm, and the weight is 560 grams (including the battery and antenna).

The radio’s frequency range is 136-174 / 400-520 MHz. You’ll appreciate the LED flashlight, the LCD display (including three backlight options) to show dual frequencies, the battery saver, and a low-battery warning.

FM radio and channel storage

You get switching between two channels thanks to the A/B button, storage for up to 128 channel groups, a quick-access shortcut mode, FM radio (65.0 MHz – 108.0 MHz), an emergency channel, and also a monitoring channel. The kit also includes a keypad lock.

The signal transmission range is from 2 to up to 5 kilometers. The antenna has a 50 Ω impedance and is an SMA – Female type.
