RGB laser instead of LED. This is the difference
Most portable projectors in this category use an LED light source. Dolphin 2 is built on RGB lasers, and the difference is visible in the image right away.
The laser can produce a significantly wider range of colors. The manufacturer claims coverage of 110 % of the BT.2020 color space — i.e., a value you usually only see on projectors for several times higher prices. In practice, it means a rich red that isn’t orange, and skin tones that look natural instead of waxy. For movies and sports broadcasts, it’s a difference you’ll notice even without having a second projector next to it for comparison.
The second advantage is lifespan. The laser source is rated for 30,000 hours, which — with two hours of viewing per day — works out to decades. Meanwhile, LED lamps gradually lose brightness, and after a few years of heavy use, it starts to be noticeable.
The picture is complemented by native Full HD resolution 1920 × 1080 — i.e., true resolution, not scaled up from a lower panel — with HDR10 and HLG support. The projector can also handle decoding 4K content from streaming services.
Google TV with Netflix and thousands of apps
A huge advantage of the ETOE Dolphin 2 model is the integrated Google TV system. You don’t need to connect a TV Box or a streaming adapter. After the first power-on, you’ll sign in to your Google account and instantly get access to over 10,000 apps, including Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video, and other popular services.
It also supports voice control through Google Assistant, wireless screen mirroring with Google Cast, Miracast, and AirPlay — and it also includes dual-band WiFi 2.4 GHz / 5 GHz plus Bluetooth 5.1 for connecting wireless speakers or headphones.
Automatic image adjustment — it takes care of it for you
The projector uses an AI-powered automatic image adjustment system, so tedious manual setup is practically eliminated. When you turn it on, it automatically sharpens the image, corrects trapezoid distortion, adapts the image to the size of the projection surface, and even detects obstacles it then avoids.
The result is a perfectly adjusted image in just a few seconds. Just place the projector on a table or shelf, and everything else will take care of itself. The manufacturer also added an adjustable stand with a range from -40° to 76°, so you can comfortably project not only onto a wall but also directly onto the ceiling while watching movies in bed.
Projection from 20 to 120 inches
ETOE Dolphin 2 can create an image with a diagonal from 20 to 120 inches. Thanks to the 1.2 : 1 projection ratio, you only need a relatively short distance from the wall. At a distance of about 1.6 meters, it will produce an approximately 60-inch image, and at around 3.2 meters it reaches the maximum of 120 inches.
That’s why the projector is also ideal for smaller apartments where there isn’t enough space for a traditional home cinema. It also works great for presentations or outdoor movie nights during summer evenings on the terrace or in the garden.
Battery for up to two movies and USB-C power
Inside the projector there’s a battery with a capacity of 54 Wh, providing approximately two hours of playback. In most cases, that’s enough for a whole movie without needing a power outlet. If you want to watch longer, the projector also supports power via USB-C Power Delivery, so you can use it with a powerful power bank too.
This feature makes the ETOE Dolphin 2 an ideal companion for traveling, camping, or weekend trips to a cottage where an electrical network isn’t always available.
Powerful hardware and quality sound
Smooth system performance is handled by a quad-core MT9630 Cortex-A53 processor paired with 2 GB RAM and 32 GB storage. Navigation through Google TV is fast and without unnecessary slowdowns. The projector manages video streaming and switching between apps with ease.
Sound is provided by a pair of 5 W speakers with support for Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital Plus. For everyday watching of movies or series, it’s completely sufficient, but if you need more, you can simply connect an external speaker via Bluetooth or 3.5 mm audio output.
