Huge power and great range
Both scooters have a dual drive, where both motors deliver 2800 W each. The total maximum power is thus 5600 W. With such powerful motors, you can reach up to 85 km/h on the scooter. Hills are no problem, unlike with weaker scooters. Laotie ES18 handles a maximum incline of 50°.
You can enjoy riding the Laotie ES18 for up to 100 km, because that’s the approximate range on a single charge when using one-motor drive. With dual drive, of course, the range drops to approximately 50–60 km. With the Laotie ES18P, you should be able to go a bit further. The manufacturer states 120 km with one-motor drive and 55 – 65 km at full power.
Battery and charging
Laotie ES18 has a 60 V / 31.2 Ah lithium battery made up of 18650-type cells. The upgraded version, Laotie ES18P, has 60 V / 33.6 Ah with 21700-type cells. In addition, the Laotie ES18P includes stickers for heat dissipation and protective pads for the battery and the battery control unit. This means the battery won’t get damaged even when you ride on tougher terrain.
With the basic Laotie ES18, everything is exposed inside the deck, and it’s possible that riding on rougher terrain could damage the battery. That’s why many owners modify the inside of the battery compartment.
The battery should be charged with the included 2A charger for approximately 8 to 10 hours. However, we recommend buying a more powerful 5A charger.
Other features
Both scooters have wide, 11″ pneumatic tires suitable for off-road riding. There’s also suspension at the front and at the rear, an electronic and disc brake, as well as front and rear lights. The scooters also have turn signals.
On the handlebars, there’s a display that shows ride data such as your current speed, remaining battery capacity, and range.
