Even though they impressed everyone during the launch with their great flagship specs and a low price, they haven’t stopped surprising users with their equipment until now.
For the Meizu 17 Pro devices, Meizu quietly rolled out an update that enables the option of 120 Hz and other great new features. Previously, this device had a maximum refresh rate of only 90 Hz.
120 Hz is a reality
The mentioned update is labeled Flyme 8.1.1.0A, and its name is “Media Review Device System Update”. The size is 803,84 MB, but it still wakes the sleeping lion in the device.

So from now on, Meizu 17 Pro will support a maximum display refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. Until now, this was reserved only for truly flagship models, as proven by the absence of 120 Hz in Xiaomi’s latest flagship model — Xiaomi Mi 10.
Besides the pleasant surprise of a higher refresh rate, Meizu also brings other welcome improvements through the update.
DC Dimming
The news includes, for example, the useful DC Dimming feature, which in practice prevents unpleasant flickering when adjusting brightness.
Useful updates also didn’t miss the camera. The app now includes an option for switching easily to the wide-angle camera, because until now the cameras could only be changed by swiping across the display.
Other features include HDR support for video playback, as well as the option of fast charging while using the smartphone. These are great and useful updates that more than one user will appreciate.
