Nubia is preparing its first Red Magic Wi-Fi 6 router. It will feature a gaming look as well as gaming features

Alongside the long-awaited smartphone Red Magic 5S, Nubia recently surprised everyone with the announcement that the unveiling of their new gaming router Red Magic Wi-Fi 6 is just around the corner. Nubia sent out an unusual invitation for this event, which takes place next Tuesday, July 28.

Cube-shaped design

The new gaming router Red Magic Wi-Fi 6 has a rather unconventional design in the shape of a large cube. On the top, there’s a backlit manufacturer logo, and you’ll also find ventilation openings at each corner. The router has a matte silver finish, and the front proudly features its Wi-Fi 6 functionality.

A social media post on Weibo was shared by Nubia vice president Ni Fei, who says the router will bring support for game acceleration when any Red Magic smartphone is connected to it.

He also mentioned that the high-performance processor includes OFDMA technology, which supports multiple devices connected at the same time—so they can all fully take advantage of Wi-Fi 6.

The router also uses powerful antennas, giving it a wider range and stronger throughput through walls.

Unusual invitation

For the Tuesday unveiling of this new product, taking place already on 28 July, Nubia decided to send out very unusual invitations. They consist of a small portable fan with a built-in retro tetris game, along with a built-in display and buttons.

The small fan comes in white and offers up to 7 blades for optimal airflow. In the middle of the fan, you’ll also find the Red Magic logo. Under it, there’s a smaller black-and-white display together with control buttons for the preinstalled tetris game.

The Tuesday unveiling should also include a full presentation of the Red Magic 5S smartphone, along with a couple of other eco products from Nubia. So, in addition to the smartphone and router, there should be a few more products revealed that we still don’t know about yet.
