Midea has unveiled its new tech-packed robotic vacuum cleaner, the P8, under its new brand Obode

Chinese brand Midea has officially launched its new robotic vacuum cleaner under a sub-brand, labeled Obode P8. It’s packed with technology and even its announced sale price will surprise you.

Obode P8: A new, top-tier robotic vacuum from Midea

The company Midea Robozone has just introduced its new subsidiary brand called “Obode.” The Obode brand enters the market with smart technological cleaning solutions, just like the parent company. What’s more, we already know its first product: the Obode P8 robotic vacuum cleaner.

Obode will start selling its new robotic vacuum model in the USA and the United Kingdom within the next few weeks. This vacuum will offer specialized mopping pads that can clean themselves automatically using a cleaning solution. It also includes navigation ToF LDS for precise movement around obstacles, without unnecessary bumping.

The package includes automatic water refilling to use the mop functions, as well as smartphone connectivity via the mobile app (Obode Life). You’ll also like voice control, including the ability to customize cleaning zones — or, on the contrary, the zones the vacuum shouldn’t go into.

The vacuum is a 4-in-1 flagship model with high suction power up to 2000 Pa (the electric motor delivers 200 rotations per minute). The dimensions of this vacuum are 350 x 342.5 x 97.5 millimeters. The rather boxy design will be appreciated when vacuuming corners or around furniture.

The dustbin capacity is 400 milliliters, and there’s a water tank with a capacity of 160 milliliters. During vacuuming, the noise level of this vacuum tops out at 68 dB; when using the mop function, it drops to 56 dB. The package also includes a charging station that features automatic emptying and water refilling. Its dimensions are 450 x 412 x 410 millimeters.

Price and availability of the new robotic vacuum cleaner

The robotic vacuum cleaner Obode P8 is expected to go on sale starting on February 9, 2021. The top model of the brand will be available for a price of 1,099 USD, but the “promo” deal will be very tempting. The brand will offer almost half the price at 599 USD for users who register in advance for this discount on the official manufacturer website.
