Chinese Geely E2 is one of those cars that have been missing from Europe for a long time— a small five-door electric hatch with a normal equipment level and a price that doesn’t start with a thirty. In Belgium, it appeared even before the brand managed to officially introduce it: the first units are already in showrooms, and customers can check them out before sales go live.
The first units are in Bruges, Ostend and Roeselare
The CarNewsChina portal shared shots from three Belgian dealerships where the cars arrived on September 6. They’re displayed in white and pink on 16-inch wheels with Yokohama BluEarth-GT tyres. The aggressive sales push is set to start on September 11, so this is a classic pre-launch for curious customers.
In China, the same car is sold under the name Geely Xingyuan, and it’s an absolute bestseller there— according to CarNewsChina, in 2026 it sold over 226,000 units. It comes to Europe with five stars in Euro NCAP according to the 2026 methodology, which is far from guaranteed with cheap electric cars.
Inside: a 14.6-inch display and seven airbags
The interior is surprisingly civilized for this class. It’s dominated by a 14.6-inch touchscreen display in the middle of the dashboard, plus heated seats and seven airbags. The rear uses a multi-link suspension, which is more of an exception in small electric cars— most competitors settle for a simpler trailing-armed axle.

Practicality is the second strong point. The boot offers 375 litres, and up front there’s also a 70-litre front compartment where you can conveniently fit charging cables. The car measures 4,135 mm in length, 1,805 mm in width, and has a 2,650 mm wheelbase— meaning a bit more legroom than you’d expect from a car of this size.
Two batteries, a range of 252 or 345 kilometres
The entry-level Pro version comes with a 35 kWh battery and a 252-kilometre range according to WLTP. The higher trims Max and Ultra have 47 kWh and 345 kilometres. In both cases, power is handled by a single electric motor on the rear axle producing 85 kW, i.e., 114 hp. Weight varies by version, from 1,290 to 1,365 kilograms.

So it’s a city-and-around-town car, not for long highway trips— and Geely doesn’t hide that. Rear-wheel drive and low weight make it nippier than the numbers suggest, and 345 kilometres should cover a typical commute week ahead.
Prices in Benelux and what that means for us
In Belgium and Luxembourg, the price list starts below the €20,000 mark— specifically at €19,490, as this is an introductory offer with a €2,000 discount compared to the regular price of €21,490. In the Netherlands, prices are noticeably higher and start at €20,990 with a discount, or at €22,990 without it. There are three equipment trims on offer: Pro, Max and Ultra.

For Slovak customers, price is the most interesting factor right now. Electric cars under €20,000 are basically a rarity here, and they are almost always noticeably smaller city cars. The E2 is a proper five-door hatchback, with a range of over 300 kilometres, and a trunk big enough for your groceries and even a stroller. Geely also doesn’t enter our market from scratch—its vehicles for Central Europe are brought in by the distributor Grand Automotive Central Europe, so the road to Slovak showrooms is more open than with most other Chinese brands.
