iQOO 5 and iQOO 5 Pro officially: 120 W charging, 120 Hz display, and a 50 MPx camera

The company iQOO today introduced in China the iQOO 5 flagship smartphone series. The series includes two smartphones: iQOO 5 and iQOO 5 Pro. The iQOO 5 series, in addition to a high refresh-rate display up to 120 Hz, also brings top-tier cameras.

The main attraction of this series is that the iQOO 5 Pro comes with support for fast 120 W charging.

Specifications of iQOO 5 and iQOO 5 Pro

The iQOO 5 series offers a beautiful 6.56" AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. The iQOO 5 display is flat, while the iQOO 5 Pro has a screen with curved edges.

The 20:9 aspect ratio display supports a maximum brightness of up to 1 300 nits, 100% P3 color gamut, and HDR10+.

The smartphones also come with an in-display fingerprint scanner. Weight is 197 g, while the thickness is just 8.32 mm.

The iQOO 5 series is powered by the Snapdragon 865 from Qualcomm. There’s LPPDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 internal storage. It also features an improved heat-dissipation system with a VC cooling liquid for better thermal conductivity. The iQOO 5 series runs on iQOO UI 5.0 based on Android 10.

8K video support

The iQOO 5 and iQOO 5 Pro smartphones are equipped with a 16 MPx selfie camera. The back features a triple-camera system. It consists of a main 50 MPx lens, a wide-angle lens with 13 MPx and a 120-degree field of view. The third one is a telephoto lens with a resolution of 13 MPx.

It also comes with an 8 MPx portrait lens. IQOO 5 supports EIS and 20x digital zoom, while iQOO 5 Pro features OIS and 5x optical zoom. The cherry on top is 60x hybrid zoom and 8K video recording.

Fast 55 W charging

The iQOO 5 has a 4 500 mAh battery with support for fast 55 W charging. On the other hand, the Pro model comes with a smaller 4 000 mAh battery. However, the Pro model supports fast charging up to 120 W.

As iQOO already stated, charging the smartphone via 120 W fast charging takes only 15 minutes. Dual SIM support, 5G, Wi‑Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, GPS, a USB-C connector, stereo speakers with a built-in audio chip, face recognition, and Hi-Res audio support are also included.

iQOO became the global partner of BMW M Motorsport. That’s why, together with BMW, iQOO has launched the iQOO 5 Pro in special color variants.

The color variant “The Track Edition” comes with a carbon matte glass on the back along with blue elements along the edges. The color variant “Legendary Edition” is made from genuine leather.

iQOO 5 Pro:

iQOO 5 and iQOO 5 Pro smartphone pre-orders have already started in China. Sales for both models will begin on August 24.
