OnePlus officially confirmed that the OnePlus 8T Pro won’t be unveiled this year. The reason is the OnePlus 8 Pro

We won’t see the OnePlus 8T Pro this year

In recent weeks, we published an article based on various rumors that talked about the absence of the OnePlus 8T Pro model. On the social network Weibo, today even the company’s own OnePlus CEO – Pete Lau commented, confirming the information about the OnePlus 8T Pro.

In his post, he also explains why we’re actually not getting this smartphone this year. It’s a problem where the company doesn’t have room to move forward with a new smartphone. All the latest available technologies are already found in the OnePlus 8 series.

The upcoming OnePlus 8T improves the base OnePlus 8 model, and its biggest selling point so far will be the fastest charging we’ve been able to see in this company’s smartphones. It will support fast charging up to 65 W, so you can charge the phone’s battery from 0% to 100% in just 38 minutes.

The battery capacity is practically identical to the Pro model – 4 500 mAh. What’s more, the OnePlus 8T will also take the main camera sensor from the Pro model. In total, the camera system will offer 4 different sensors.

The OnePlus CEO also mentions that if some fans were waiting specifically for the OnePlus 8T Pro, they should go for the OnePlus 8 Pro, which currently offers the best on the market. It was discounted along with the base model, even before the OnePlus 8T was officially released.

However, OnePlus is preparing a few other surprises for us, which the managing director says will be worth it. As always, there were also speculations that it could be new headphones from the Bullet, Buds series or even the company’s first laptop.

What we know so far about the OnePlus 8T

The OnePlus 8T should offer a flat 6.55″ Full HD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz.

We can also look forward to a flagship octa-core processor Snapdragon 865 from Qualcomm, backed by 8 or 12 GB of RAM RAM and 128 or 256 GB of internal storage.

The main camera will offer a resolution of 48 MPx and will be complemented by a 16 MPx ultra-wide-angle camera, a 5 MPx macro sensor, and a 2 MPx depth sensor. There also won’t be missing a 32 MPx selfie camera in the form of a cutout in the top-left corner of the display.

The battery capacity will increase by 200 mAh compared to the OnePlus 8, so it will be 4 500 mAh. There will also be 65 W fast charging with Warp Charge. At launch, the smartphone should come with the latest OS Android 11 with the OxygenOS 11 overlay.
