RedMagic 9 Pro: 6.8″ 120 Hz AMOLED and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
The parent company ZTE left nothing to chance, even with the ninth generation of its gaming device. RedMagic 9 Pro brings premium aluminum build quality with sharp edges and prominent rear camera lenses. The dimensions of this smartphone are 164 x 76.4 x 8.9 mm, and its total weight—including the integrated fans—comes to 229 grams.
On the front, there’s a large up to 6.8″ AMOLED display with a resolution of 2480 x 1116 pixels and a high refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The sampling rate is 960 Hz, the maximum brightness is up to 1600 nits, and it also supports PWM dimming at 2160 Hz. The panel includes an in-display fingerprint sensor and very thin side bezels (the panel covers 93.7% of the front area). Under the display, there’s also a hidden front camera.
Power is handled by the latest flagship eight-core chip Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, paired with a graphics chip Adreno 750, along with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal UFS 4.0 storage. On the domestic Chinese market, a top configuration of 24 GB RAM + 1 TB UFS 4.0 storage should also be available.
Vapor Chamber, RGB backlighting and 80 W charging
Since this is a gaming phone, the aluminum frame also includes gaming buttons along the side edges. They’ll help you especially in graphically demanding titles. Cooling is then handled by an integrated fan directly inside the chassis, plus cooling ICE 13.0 with Vapor Chamber technology measuring 10182mm². It also features RGB backlighting with customization options right in the smartphone.
The main rear camera has a resolution of 50 MP, PDAF autofocus, optical image stabilization, and supports 8K/30 fps video recording. This sensor is also complemented by a 50 MP ultra-wide camera and a 2 MP macro sensor.
The device also includes a dual-tone LED flash, HDR, panorama support, and other photo modes. The front camera hidden under the display has 16 MP and supports 1080p / 60 fps video.
Other features include Bluetooth 5.3, Wi‑Fi 7, as well as stereo speakers enhanced with Snapdragon Sound and dts:X Ultra technology, a 3.5 mm audio jack for headphones, and a USB Type‑C 3.2 Gen 2 connector with OTG support. The software is complemented by the RedMagicOS 9.0 graphical interface.
The built-in battery has a capacity of up to 6500 mAh. That’s an above-average value, further supported by fast wired charging over USB‑C with up to 80 W power. With support for Power Delivery, you’ll reach full capacity in as little as 35 minutes.
