Angwatt CS1 is entering the e-scooter segment under €600 with a fairly large build that’s meant for full-grown Europeans—not little Asians. It comes with an interesting feature at the front, led by “kangaroo suspension”, off-road 11" tires, and a decent range of around 65 km.
Now it comes in an upgraded version, because the original had issues with climbing hills and weak acceleration. The manufacturer should have fixed this with a new controller and a better BMS (Battery Management System).

We tested the very first version of the e-scooter, which had rather weak acceleration. Even worse was its hill-climbing performance, which was genuinely weak. The updated version of the scooter should have this addressed with a new controller and likely also a better BMS. It also fixes the rattling in the stem thanks to a rubber strip, and the display is said to have been improved with higher brightness. The new version was reported by the well-known Czech YouTuber Karotka.
Angwatt CS1: Up to 1000 W, 200 kg load capacity, and a speed of 55 km/h
Angwatt delivers a robust build made from an aluminum alloy with dimensions of 132 x 68 x 130 cm. The scooter’s weight is 30 kg, and the user load capacity is up to 200 kilograms—an absolutely above-average figure.
Power is handled by up to a 1000 W electric motor, which offers several riding modes (including “ECO” for improved battery life), as well as a maximum speed of up to 55 km/h. The scooter can handle climbing in an incline of 30°, has 11" tubeless tires with a thick tread for off-road riding, and both front and rear suspension.
LED lighting, 21.3 Ah, and a battery range of 85 km
You’ll also appreciate the powerful LED lighting, a pair of turn signals, brake lights, and an HD display for showing ride information. The equipment also includes a dual braking system: disc brakes plus an electronic brake, along with an E-ABS system. The scooter’s security is handled via an NFC card.
The integrated battery pack offers a maximum capacity of 48 V / 21.3 Ah. The maximum range per charge is between 65 and 85 kilometers (depending on the selected riding mode). Charging with the included charger takes about 8 hours.
In the retail package you’ll find the robust e-scooter Angwatt CS1 itself, along with a charger with a local mains plug (EU Plug, 220 – 240 V / 50 – 60 Hz). There’s also a pair of NFC cards for unlocking the scooter (access key), a tool for securing the individual parts, and a brief user manual in English.

Angwatt has basically revamped almost all Laotie models—actually, they’re their direct successors. I’m just waiting for them to release a successor to the 52V T30 Roadster (the successor to the 28Ah 52V L8S pro was the Angwatt F1). But the 33Ah T30 Roadster’s successor still hasn’t shown up… By the way, for some reason Angwatt manages to keep their lineup on the market for a short time only. A year passes, and they remove a model from the market and stop production—I don’t understand why. They’re great machines. The only model they’ve been making longer is the 60V T1, which is the successor to Laotie’s Ti30—famous “Landbreaker”.
Right now, the Laotie SR10 (still selling), the Angwatt X1, and then also the successor to the Laotie ES18 Lite is the Angwatt C1—and they’re still making and selling it. But honestly, I still miss a successor to those very popular 60V Laotie models ES18P/ES19 or the mentioned 52V Roadster. Hopefully Angwatt will surprise us again… The 48V CS1 model is more like an answer to the very successful Kugoo? no—actually the Kukirin G2 max. It’s also an exact, faithful copy, but nicely improved…
It looks great, and the price is amazing, but it’s not all gold that glitters. Check out the quick review, and your desire will be gone—you won’t be able to pull it up hills. The range is also nothing special. I’ll answer with A, then B… The updated 2024 version of the CS1 is already out—CS1 version 2.0—which is a completely different machine, literally. I don’t know what magic they did with this model at Angwatt, but suddenly it climbs hills like a tank. It also has lower power consumption, so the range is higher.
