The smart device segment has recently expanded with extremely popular smart rings. This technology is also—right now—already reasonably priced, which is proven by our model of the day, Colmi R06.
In particular, it’s already another iteration of a cheap smart ring that offers an improved Bluetooth technology and a newer chip for monitoring your activities, compared to its predecessor.
In our review, we’ll cover all the features of this Colmi model, we’ll also introduce the QRING mobile app, and we’ll share our personal experience from everyday use.

What’s in the box: Great accessories!
Colmi builds on a compact box that contains the smart ring itself Colmi R06, in the selected size, and sealed. It’s also placed directly in the protective and charging case, which is included in the package as well. You’ll also find a charging cable with a USB-C connector, along with a brief user manual in English.
When you buy, you can also choose the version without the charging case. However, according to the seller’s reviews, the magnetic charging cable is rather weak and often falls out. That’s why we recommend choosing our slightly more expensive version, including the charging case.
An important piece of information is choosing the right size. Colmi doesn’t offer any size set for trying on (a “sizing kit”). The seller provides a size table of four to five sizes, including the inner circumference and ring diameter. So the choice comes down to measuring it correctly from your side.
From our experience, the sizes are quite reasonably stepped, and we can comfortably wear our size 12 (or 21.6 mm / 67.8 mm) on both the middle finger and the ring finger.
Design and build quality: matte finish and a plastic body
The ring has a very lightweight body, weighing just 4.4 grams, so you hardly feel it on your hand at all. Long-term wear, sports activities (except racket sports), and sleeping with the ring on are no problem.

This is mainly thanks to the plastic design of the construction, which is covered on the outside with a layer of matte black paint. It’s also patterned, and it looks elegant—definitely more premium than the final price. However, it’s prone to scratches, especially when it comes into contact with metal surfaces. On the other hand, it offers improved resistance to water and dust, including an official 5ATM certification.
The inside of the ring is transparent, which will definitely please every tech fan. Besides a magnetic charging port, you’ll also find a chip for activity monitoring marked BlueX Micro RF03.

This chip has a pretty noticeable green LED when measuring, so we recommend a size that fits your finger accurately, so the LED won’t bother you at night. There’s also a red LED that signals charging.
Sleep and sports activity monitoring
The ring’s design predetermines a compact device for either one specific activity—such as mobile payments—or comprehensive 24/7 activity monitoring. Colmi went with the second option. So it’s a fitness accessory for tracking your movement or sleep. And unlike smart bracelets, it doesn’t support card payments.
First and foremost, we have to mention constant everyday monitoring of the number of steps taken, distance covered, and calories burned. Along with that, it also tracks your heart rate. Other functions include monitoring the amount of oxygen in your blood (SpO2 monitoring, which slightly reduces battery life), as well as monitoring sports activities (about 20 sports to choose from), and sleep monitoring with an evaluation of sleep stages plus statistics on wake-ups and a resulting sleep score.
Activity monitoring is fairly accurate, and the step count matched the step count from our smart watch and smartphone (deviation +/- 5%). We also really liked the sleep monitoring. However, it’s important to point out that the ring doesn’t always record the time you fall asleep correctly—sometimes it’s longer than in reality.
On the other hand, it evaluated staying awake at night precisely. Again, when comparing it with a smart bracelet—the integrated RF03 chip that handles this monitoring reminded us of results measured on cheaper smart bracelets, such as the Xiaomi Smart Band 7.
Mobile app: QRing app also in Slovak
With a smart ring, you don’t get a display or any other information panel. The product itself, in our case Colmi R06, is therefore only as good as its software, which connects to it directly from the manufacturer.
The connection to your smartphone is handled by the QRing mobile app, available for both iOS and Android. The app is truly easy to set up, and it doesn’t require any user account—just enter the basic attributes like gender, height, weight, or your exercise goal, calories burned, and so on.
The ring connects via Bluetooth 5.0 and has a range of about 10 meters. If you move away or close the app by accident, your data syncs directly when you connect again next time. Another advantage is that the app supports Czech and Slovak. The translation isn’t perfectly polished, but it’s enough to understand the data (e.g., the number of kilometers covered is shown as the number of driven kilometers, etc.).
The app has a nice interface and consists of four pages. The first one shows ongoing statistics—your data—with an evaluation of both the amount of exercise you’ve done and its quality. On the next page, you’ll find an overview of steps and calories burned, including history in the form of a calendar.
On the third page, you’ll find all the data related to your sleep quality. There’s a graph of when you fall asleep, wake-ups, REM phase, deep sleep phase, and so on. You’ll also find a calendar with your sleep score here. If not all information appears right away when you turn it on for the first time, don’t worry—the manufacturer’s software algorithm needs continuous monitoring for 7 days to evaluate some of the statistics. Only then will it add the data to the app.
The final part also includes an overview of the hardware itself. Here you’ll find the Bluetooth address of the ring, the battery level, with the option to get notified about low battery, as well as other settings. You can also link the ring to Apple Health, as well as Google Fit, depending on the version of your app.
You can also turn on or off all-day heart rate monitoring, HRV monitoring, or SpO2 monitoring. There’s also a field for software updates and, if needed, options to restart or restore the device. Considering the product price, the app is a pleasant surprise.
Battery life and charging case: 3 days on a single charge and USB-C
The manufacturer, Colmi, guarantees battery life of 3 to 5 days per single charge. We can confirm this value and, even with SpO2 monitoring and tracking activities for an hour per day (e.g. a walk or active running), we recorded an energy drop of about 30 to 40% per day.

If you use the basic version, after three days you’ll get relatively fast charging (around 60 minutes) via a USB-A cable, but it has a rather weak magnet—so you need to make sure the ring is positioned correctly while charging.

Here’s the standout advantage: a compact charging case. It’s smaller than, for example, with headphones, but it includes a battery for another 10 charges. It also has a USB-C connector, so even with active use and charging every 3 days, you’ll only need to charge the charging case about once a month. We really see this as a positive.
Final verdict: COLMI R06
Colmi R06 is a great-value and affordable smart ring that’s suitable as your first product in this category if you want to try it out, for example. It has a lightweight body and a mobile app translated into Czech. However, we’d compare its features and measurement accuracy to chips found in cheaper smart bracelets.

So if you can live with a few compromises, or you don’t really like sports or sleeping with a watch on your wrist, we definitely recommend buying it.

However, we recommend choosing the configuration that includes the charging case. It’s more expensive, but it’s practical—and charging like this using the accessory will feel quite natural, especially if you already use true-wireless earbuds.

Why do you recommend only the r06? Won’t the R10 be better??
We tested this one. We haven’t had a chance to try the Colmi R10 in the editorial office yet 🙂
Sure, thanks
